The premise

Humanity has always concerned itself with reality: is the world around us ‘real’? Are other beings ‘real’? Is our mind ‘real’?

Different philosophers provide varying answers. Plato said that the ‘real world’ exists in a whole other perfect realm. Descartes said that we can only be sure of the existence of our mind (“cogito ergo sum”). Others say we can never truly know.

As time goes by, our knowledge in science advances. At the time of Plato, the Greeks had already shifted from mythos to logos and established some scientific foundations; Descartes was contemporary to Galileo and Newton, where the whole paradigm switched from geocentrism to heliocentrism, and Newton's laws transformed physics.

In the 20th century there have been huge changes in our understanding of physics. When Einstein published his articles on the Special Theory of Relativity (1905) and the General Theory of Relativity (1915–16), physics would never be the same.

These findings had huge implications not only scientifically but also in regards to reality itself, from a metaphysical lens.

Through The Higgs-Files, you are invited to explore this through the simulation theory.
